On Wednesday 26 March Fondazione ICA Milano opens to the public its Spring exhibition program, designed to intersect the city's two major thematic weeks, with three new projects, presented for the first time in Italy.

The show Wonders of the Modern World, designed by Pier Paolo Tamburelli and articulated through photographs and videos by Giovanna Silva and Giulio Squillacciotti along with a sound installation by Nicola Ratti, explores some of the “Wonders of the Modern World”, places where vast crowds gather to perform collective rituals.

Wonders of the Modern World is a project by Pier Paolo Tamburelli, with photographs and videos by Giovanna Silva and Giulio Squillacciotti and a sound installation by Nicola Ratti. The exhibition explores eight contemporary architectural wonders - from the Great Mosque of Touba to the Sambódromo in Rio - through glass models illuminated from the inside, videos and sounds that render their monumental and ritual dimension.

The design of the project, resulting from research conducted by the Gestaltungslehre and Design department of the Technical University of Vienna, combines evocative images and detailed spatial analysis. The exhibition invites the public to to pay attention to aspects of architecture that are far removed from the canons of modernism, but still deeply alive in the global cultural fabric.
